AUPA Mantra to ponder Vedānta is not Mere Intellectual Pleasure

Vedānta is not Mere Intellectual Pleasure

By Swami Chidananda

Spiritual wisdom is intimately related to the inmost and the deepest desire in our human life – to be free of suffering, and to clear our bosom of all guilt and shame. Sorrow, pride, low self-esteem and a host of negativities belong to the ego, our misconceived identity. Upon knowing Brahman, our true nature, all of them – lock, stock, and barrel – pack up and leave us.

The knower of Brahman goes beyond sorrow and is freed from all sin!

 tarati shokam, tarati pāpmānam

Mundaka Upanishad – 3.2.9

(Mundaka 3, Khanda 2, mantra 9)
